Tomato Sauce with Beans

This recipe is easy, inexpensive and tasty.

Don’t be afraid to add your favorite veggies.

Tomato Sauce with Beans

1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes

1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce

1 Onion (Vidalia or White) chopped

2 cloves of garlic minced

1 can of white beans (cannellini, great northern or white kidney)

1 can (4.5 oz) mushrooms (optional)

Oregano

Garlic Powder

Onion Powder

  1. Drain and rinse beans
  2. Combine all ingredients in sauce pan and simmer for 20-30 minutes
  3. Stir occasionally
  4. Makes enough sauce for ~ 2 lbs of Whole Wheat Pasta*
  5. Refrigerate or Freeze leftovers.

*100% Whole Wheat Pasta  (Spirals or Penne pasta work best)
