Live Long and Prosper!

 Dr. Dean Ornish , in collaboration with Nobel laureate Elizabeth Blackburn, PhD,   showed that the following lifestyle changes can lengthen telomeres, the ends of chromosomes that control how long we live.

  a very low-fat diet including predominantly fruits, vegetables, whole grains,  legumes, and soy products in their natural, unrefined forms;

  moderate exercise such as walking;

  various stress management techniques including yoga-based stretching,   breathing, meditation, and imagery; and

 enhanced love and social support, which may include support groups.

 Ringo Starr, (the most unappreciated Beatle):

  •      is a long-time vegetarian,
  •     works out regularly,
  •     meditates daily and
  •     attributes aging well to being in love with his wife of 33 years

 The results of Ringo’s lifestyle sure seem to confirm Dr. Ornish’s research.

Click Here to watch the 73 year old sing “Photograph”,  a song written by George Harrison (a very underrated songwriter in my book).  I think most 73 year olds would love to be able maintain functionality as well as Ringo has.
